Thomason, Frazer, 1917-1994.
Reverend Frazer Thomas served as pastor of the Wakonda Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Under the sponsorship of the National Council of Churches he and his wife, Loris, were sent to Clarksdale, Mississippi to support civil rights workers in their mission to register African American voters.The couple worked under the direction of Aaron Henry, chairman of the Mississippi chapter of the NAACP and founder of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. Reverend Thomason counseled and assisted registration volunteers and Loris worked in the day care center of the Clarksdale Freedom School, one of the centers established to provide African Americans with adult education and training in community activisim.
