Henry Brevoort Eddy was born in New York City on September 16, 1872, the son of Ulysses Doubleday Eddy and Jane Brevoort of Mamaroneck, New York. He attended Harvard University between 1890 and 1894, where he edited the Harvard Lampoon . After graduation, he moved to New York City, where he worked as an artist and as art manager for papers including the New York Journal, the Sunday Journal, and the New York Ledger . He married Marguerite Barr (b. ca. 1877), a Canadian immigrant, in 1907. Henry Brevoort Eddy died in 1935.
