Smith, Larry A. (Larry Allen), 1913-2009
Larry Allen Smith (b. 1913, Noonan, N.D.-d. June 18, 2009), U.S. Air Force officer, received his doctor of medicine degree in 1939 and began his military career that same year. During World War II he served overseas in Iceland and the China-Burma-India Theater. He transferred to the Army Air Corps in 1946 and became deputy surgeon, Strategic Air Command. From 1956 to 1963, he served in several positions in the Office of the Surgeon General in Washington, D.C. In 1969 he was assigned to Pacific Air Forces HQ as command surgeon, and he retired in 1973.
