Harrison Blanton was made cashier and agent of the Bank of Kentucky in the fall of 1835. He held that position until the spring of 1846. During this period he had in his possession all of the funds of the bank. The bank apparently had closed in 1835, and Blanton's task was to collect debts due the bank and otherwise close out all of its accounts. He also made dividend payments to the stockholders. (Letter by Blanton to Col. D. Howard Smith, Auditor, dated June 26, 1871.) Blanton had previously served as an official of the principal bank.

From the description of Notary public record book, 1819-1842. (Unknown). WorldCat record id: 122578008
