Confederate States of America. Army. South Carolina Cavalry Regiment, 7th. Company H.
This regiment was organized in April 1864 by combining the five company cavalry battalion of the Holcombe Legion, the two companies of the Rutledge Mounted Rifles under Captains Walker and Magee, two companies from Georgetown and Horry (S.C.) under Captains Tucker and Wallace, and the Wateree Mounted Rifles from Kershaw (S.C.). Colonel Alexander C. Haskell took the command of the 7th Cavalry Regiment in March 1864.
