King, William H., 1817-1892.
Member of the Chicago Bar Association, a founder and early president of the Chicgo Law Institute, President of the Chicago Board of Education, and member of the Illinois State Legislature (1871-1872). Born in New York, received law degree from Waterford, admitted to New York Bar in 1847, moved to Chicago in 1853 and active in law there for over thirty years. After Chicago fire destroyed all records of Cook County, wrote bill providing for the protection of titles to real estate.
