Floyd Spicer Armstrong was born in 1912 in Plainfield, NY, the son of Roy Delivan Armstrong and Bertha Spicer Armstrong. Valedictorian of West Winfield High School in 1930, Floyd published a number of poems, particularly in the 1930s. Much of his life was spent running the family farm in Plainfield. Floyd was a religious man, and member of the Federated Church of West Winfield. He was also noted for his generosity and sense of humor. Floyd died on October 12, 2005.
