Sharples, S. Emlen (Samuel Emlen), 1828-1914.
Birmingham Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) emerged in 1827, after the Hicksite separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, out of the original Birmingham Monthly Meeting. This meeting was discontinued in 1955. In 1956, its constituent preparative meetings, Birmingham and West Chester, were set up as monthly meetings.
