Brittain, James E., 1931-
Variant namesBricklayer, brickmaker and building contractor. Arrived in WA in 1852. Some of Perth's most notable buildings are attributed to him: Barracks, Cloisters, Deanery, Bishops House. Richard Wells was apprenticed to him in 1877; he died in a fall from a building in 1886.
