John Johnston Walsh (1820-1884) graduated from Union College in 1839 and continued his education at Princeton Theological Seminary from 1840-1843. He was ordained in 1843 and was appointed by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. to the North India Mission in the same year. Walsh was stationed with his wife Emma, first at Fategargh, then Mainpuri, and finally Allahabad. In 1873 they left India and Walsh served as a pastor in Millertown, N.Y. until 1876, when they retired to Armenia, N.Y.
