Homer T. Shaver was born in 1891 on the east bank of the Willamette River.

Homer T. Shaver was born in 1891 on the east bank of the Willamette River.

After earning a law degree in Washington DC, he returned to Portland to practice law. Later in 1921, he joined his family business, Shaver Company. He helped organize a towboat firm, Shaver Forward Company, to haul grain to Portland from the Upper Columbia River. In 1967 he became president of Shaver Transportation.
