Harrison, Joseph P., 1812?-1839.
Infantry lieutenant.
Born in Georgia and appointed to the U.S. Military Academy from Alabama, Joseph P. Harrison was appointed brevet second lieutenant in the 6th Infantry following graduation, and was stationed at the Jefferson Barracks in Missouri until 1836. After serving in the Seminole Wars in Florida, 1837-1838, the then first lieutenant resigned from the army in July of 1839, following a nine-month leave of absence. Harrison died three months later at the age of twenty-seven.
