Biographical Note: Edward Henry Spieker was a professor of classical languages, The Johns Hopkins University, 1882-1918.

Spieker was born in Baltimore, MD in 1859. He received the A.B. degree from Hopkins in 1879 and the Ph. D. in 1882. He remained at Hopkins to teach Greek and Latin and was the author of a text, "Greek Prose Composition for Use in Colleges" (1904). Edward Henry Spieker died in Baltimore in 1918.
