Westlake, William.
Variant namesColonel William (Bill) Westlake was trained as a pilot in World War I and he worked as a journalist between the wars. He served as public relations Air Force officer for General "Hap" Arnold during the course of World War II in the European and Pacific Theatres. After the war he saw the "Operation Crossroads" nuclear weapons test at Bikini Atoll in 1946. He was active in Air Force affairs until his retirement in the 1960s.
