University of Leeds Department of Physics
The Department of Mathematics and Experimental Physics was one of the original constituent departments of the Yorkshire College of Science, Leeds, founded in 1874. Physics became a department in its own right during the session 1882-83. The Yorkshire College became the University of Leeds in 1904.
