Colonel (COL) Oliver B. Brown enlisted in the United States Army in July 1923. He served as a non-commissioned officer with the Headquarters Company, 101st Engineers. In 1927, he enrolled as a cadet at the Massachusetts Military Academy. After receiving his commission, Brown continued to serve with the 101st Engineers, then the Massachusetts Military Reserves. On 15 September 1940, Brown was inducted into active federal service, first with the Quartermaster Corps, then with the Corps of Engineers. Brown retired on 30 June 1956.
