Archibald Mitchell Munro was born on 28 December 1910 . He was an arts student at the University of Glasgow from 1928-1932 . In his first year, 1928-1929, he studied Ordinary English, Latin and History. The following year he took English (Higher Ordinary), History (Higher Ordinary) and Logic. In his third year he studied English Literature (Junior Honours), English Language (Junior Honours) and British History (Junior Honours). In his final year, 1931-1932, Munro studied English Literature and English Literature, both with Senior Honours. He graduated MA (with 2nd class honours in English Language & Literature) in 1932 .

Munro also recieved a BSc from the University of London and went on to work as a rector. He died in Sutherland, Scotland on 13 July 1966.
