Senator George Moffett served for 32 years in the Texas legislature, most of those years in the Senate.

His special interests were transportation (especially the trucking industry), agriculture (cotton production), the oil industry in Texas, and education at all levels. He also worked for water conservation in the state, and he displayed real concern for the effects of the Depression upon his constituents as well as Texas as a whole.
