Hay, William Henry, 1860-1946
William Henry Hay (b. July 16, 1860, Florida-d. Dec. 17, 1946), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1886. He served as commander of the 15th Cavalry in the Philippines and of the 184th Brigade, 92nd Division, and the 28th Division during World War I. He received a number of military decorations, having participated in several key World War I campaigns. Following the War, he was chief of staff, American Forces in Germany, and commander, 1st Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. General Hay retired in 1923.
