Broyles, Lola, 1909-

Lola Broyles graduated from Belhaven College in 1931. Two years later, she began work for the Civil Works Administration, and later the Emergency Relief Administration, organizing projects for women in Monroe County, Mississippi. After earning a mater's degree in social work, she continued to work in New Deal programs in Mississippi until 1943, when she enlisted in the Navy. After World War II, she worked with Family Services in Mississippi and then with the Veterans Administration in Jackson.
