Variant namesPhysicist and physical chemist. Carl Howard Collie graduated from Oxford in 1925, in chemistry, but subsequently followed a career as a physicist. Tutor in physics at Christ Church, Oxford, from 1930, and University Lecturer in Physics from 1945, until his retirement in 1971.
