Kirtland, Frederick William.
Kirtland was the son of Daniel Kirtland of Durham, Greene County, N.Y. He relocated to Schoharie County, N.Y. to manage a store for Peter Osterhout. Later Kirtland moved to New London Connecticut to manage a store there. Kirtland's sister Caroline married Burton G. Morss and settled in Prattsville, N.Y. Another sister, Julia, married Cooper Sayre and settled in Rensselaerville, N.Y.
