University of Michigan. Adult Medical Genetics Clinic.
In 1941 the University of Michigan established a heredity clinic under the direction of Lee R. Dice. James V. Neel served as director of the genetics clinic from 1956 until 1993. Clinic work evolved from the study of hereditary traits and diseases and grew to include genetic counseling.
