Historian.

Miller was a native of Ohio who began his career as a school teacher. He was later a Fulbright scholar, receiving his Ph. D. from Brown University in 1952. Miller taught at Boston College from 1952 to 1986. He published a number of books and articles on the religious and intellectual history of early modern Europe.
