Teller family.
Eva Magnes, the sister of Judah L. Magnes, was born in Oakland, Calif., and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley (1904). Her husband, Chester Teller, associated with the Hebrew Sheltering Guardian Society of New York City and the Jewish Orphan Home in New Orleans. He also served as the executive director of the Jewish Welfare Board from 1917 to 1919. Some of the policies that he formulated there are still in effect today. Eva and Walter's son, Walter Teller, was educated at Harvard and Columbia and is a noted author.
