Dr. Joseph H. Clements was born on March 3, 1920 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was drafted into the army in 1941 and participated in the D-Day invasion of Europe, as well as the Battle of the Bulge. He earned a doctorate in education at the University of Oklahoma and taught at several universities before accepting a position at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1963. He taught business and finance administration until his retirement in 1989.
