Ruger, Morris Hutchins
Variant namesMorris Hutchins Ruger was an American composer, author, and teacher. He taught at many institutions including several small southern schools; the School of Music at Brenau College; the Community College in San Bernardino, California; the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music and Arts; Long Beach City College; and California State University at Long Beach. Some of Ruger's most well known operas include "Westward Ho Ho!," "Gettysburg" which was broadcast nationally by NBC, and "The Scarlet Letter." Ruger also composed many art songs, choral works, suites, and sonatas for the piano.
