Incorporated in 1928 to construct a railway from tidewater on the Columbia at Vancouver through Clark, Cowlitz, Kickitat, Skamania, and Yakima counties to Yakima and eventually to the area of the project Columbia Basin Project. It sought to tap the expanding agricultural production of irrigated districts of Yakima County and, eventually, the Columbia Basin Project as well as gaining access to the rail and dock facilities in Portland. The railway was never constructed.
