Hmong and American Veterans Alliance (Minneapolis, Minn.).
The organization was established in 1985 as a benelovent and fraternal association of Hmong and American Vietnam War veterans residing largely in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Its purpose was to promote the common interest of its members and the welfare of the Hmong veterans in particular through the development of friendships and cooperative ventures between the American and Hmong members. Originally named the Hmong/American Veterans Association, the Minneapolis-based organization had strong ties to the American Refugee Committee.
