Col. Moses Waite (1780-1871) of Hubbardston, Mass., was the son of Joseph (1754-1819) and Hepzibah Sherman Waite (1760-1849). In 1804 he married Phoebe Warren (1783-1874) of Hubbardston. Waite manufactured the boards used to make textile cards, and he was a town officer and state representative who served in the Massachusetts militia during the War of 1812. One of his sons, Joseph Harrison Waite (1817-1844), was a merchant and shipper in Fort Smith, Ark. Other family members settled in Ipswich and Worcester, Mass.
