Alden LeGrand Richards (born 1951) is a faculty member at Brigham Young University. He is interested in the life of Karl G. Maeser.

Alden LeGrand "Buddy" Richards was born June 24, 1951. He is married and has five children. He currently resides in Provo, Utah. His father was Legrand Richards (1886-1983).

He graduated from Brigham Young University in April of 1975. He received his master's degree from Harvard in June 1976. In April of 1882 he received his doctorate from Brigham Young University. And from November 1983 to May 1985 he did post-graduate studies in the University of Wurzburg in Germany. He has published book chapters and books; his publications are included in regional refereed journals and national/international journals. He currently is a faculty member at Brigham Young University in the Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations.

He is proficient in German, having translated and written books and articles, and taught at the University of Wurzburg in Germany. This has helped his interest in the life of Karl G. Maeser because he has been able to translate various documents concerning his life.
