Dorn, Olin Goode, 1921-1944.
O.G. Dorn, Jr., was a native of Oswego (Sumter County, S.C.) and the only child of Olin Goode Dorn, Sr., and Ola Bethune Dorn; Dorn enrolled in Clemson College, 1938, and completed a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1942; entered military service, June 1942 as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Dorn married Mary Ellerbee LeNoir of Hagood, S.C., on 4 Nov. 1943; in Sept. 1944, he deployed to the European Theatre as a captain; killed on 23 Dec. 1944 in Belgium and awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal posthumously.
