Amy Pratt Romney was born at the Cliff Ranch, Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, on March 16, 1890. She was the daughter of Helaman Pratt (1846-1909) and his German-born first wife, Anna Johanna Dorothy Wilcken (1854-1929), and the grandaughter of Parley P. Pratt. Amy married Gaskell Romney in 1927, and had an accomplished teaching career. She died in Salt Lake City on May 14, 1976.

Verde Pratt Cardon was born on October 17, 1887, in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was also the daughter of Helaman Pratt and Anna Johanna Dorothy Wilcken. She married Clarence Philip Cardon in 1909, and died in Downey, California, on September 24, 1961.
