Kenneth L. Holderman was born April 5, 1909 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He graduated in 1931 from the Pennsylvania State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. He was the play-by-play announcer for the first Penn State football game broadcast, aired over the college-owned and operated station WPSC in 1928. Kenneth L. Holderman was appointed Director of the Department of Engineering Extension in 1949. In 1956, he was appointed Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture. On July 1, 1959, he was appointed to President Eric A. Walker's staff as coordinator of the University's system of Commonwealth Campuses. He was designated as the Director of Commonwealth Campuses in 1964 and Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses in 1970. He retired on July 1, 1974. Kenneth Holderman died October 2, 1987 in State College, Pa.
