Reinhardt Von Boeckmann was born in Germany in 1855. He came to the United States in 1867, living in New Braunfels, Texas for five years before moving to Austin, Texas in 1872. He married Laura Bastian, also from Germany, in 1876. The couple had six children: Felix, Franz, Arthur, Walter, Carl and Hertha. Reinhardt was a printer by trade and started the Von Boeckmann-Jones Company in Austin, Texas in 1902. He died in 1909 and Laura passed away in 1938.
Arthur von Boeckmann, born October 23, 1889, married Lillian Husson in 1914. Lilian was the daughter of Maria Barkinger and Francis Husson of New Orleans, Louisiana. Lilian had five siblings: Harold, Ernest, John, Catherine, Elizabeth. Little is known about the couple but it appears that Arthur worked at his father's printing company and was a purchasing agent for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. At some point the couple moved to Chicago, and then on to New Orleans in the late 1950s. Arthur died in 1963 and Lilian passed away a year later, both in New Orleans.
