J. T. Fleming

J. T. Fleming, MBE (1965), was born in 1924. He was educated at King Edward VI School, Stratford-on-Avon; Keble College, Oxford; and Gray's Inn (where he trained as a barrister-at-law). Between 1943 and 1947 he was on military service with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment).

Fleming entered the Colonial Administrative Service in Uganda in 1951. He was appointed as Head of the Uganda Law School in 1961 and became Senior Courts Adviser for the Uganda Government Service in 1962 (-1965).
