Peterkin, John, ca. 1790-1833.

John Peterkin was born around 1790 in Forres, Moray, Scotland. In August 1817, he boarded a ship in Liverpool and sailed for Baltimore. He settled for a few months in Fredericksburg, Virginia, before moving to Augusta, Georgia, in July 1818. According to a note in his journal, written by William Russell, Peterkin died in 1833 in New Orleans.
