Cincinnati (Ohio)
Cincinnati's Department of Public Utilities was created in 1926 to supervise the street railways and the gas and electric companies in the city. George Howie served as the director of the department from 1954 to 1963. The Department of Public Safety was formed in 1908 to oversee the police and fire departments. C.A. Harrell served as city manager from 1954 to 1963.
