Plumley was an Episcopal minister at Haddon Heights, N.J. who became an Army Air Forces Chaplain during World War II. As Lieutenant he was attached as chaplain to the 12th Replacement Control Depot, 8th Air Force Service Command in England.
Sniffen was born in 1844. During the Civil War he was a clerk at the U.S. Treasury Office (1863); transferred to the White House (1865) and later became executive secretary to President Grant (1869-1877). He became an Army paymaster and administered to Gen. Shaffer's Army in Cuba (1898). Promoted to Lt. Col. (1899), Colonel (1901) and Brigadier General as Chief Paymaster of the Army (1906). Retired in 1908 and died in 1930.
