Nora Ruth (Baker) Branson, daughter of Dr. Jesse Wheelock Baker and Lillie Michaud Baker, graduated from Maine General School of Nursing in 1936. She married Dr. Sidney Robert Branson, of Portland, Me. (M.D., University of Michigan, 1937), who served with the U.S. Army during World War II, chiefly in the U.S., but also in the Pacific near the end of his service. The couple had three children and lived in South Windham, Me. Nora Branson was active in many societies and organizations and was president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Cumberland County Medical Association. She was also active in WHAM (Women Help American Medicare), the local garden club, Windham School Building Committee, State Street Guild, and other groups. After Nora's death, Sidney Branson married Alice Mitchell Hinckley.
