National Center on Women and Family Law (U.S.)
Variant namesFounded in 1979, the National Center on Women and Family Law provided case consultation, guidance and technical assistance to lawyers and paralegals working for low-income American women and men on a wide range of family law matters; co-counseling and amicus briefs on "cutting-edge" family law issues; public policy analysis; training for lawyers and paralegals to represent low-income persons; and publications on a range of family law matters, particularly battered women, child support, and child custody. The center provided this under annual contracts with the federally-funded Legal Services Corporation until the end of 1995. The NCWFL was dissolved in 1996.
