Lanman and Kemp.
Located in New York City, the pharmaceutical firm of Lanman and Kemp (David T. Lanman) supplied patent medicines and other drugs to retailers in California. The firm's wares included quinine, quicksilver, and "Florida Water." The firm also imported opium from China and Turkey for processing by the Chinese in California.
