The Cafeteria Advisory Committee was established in or before 1956 at North Carolina State College to monitor the food service operations at the college, assess comments and feedback from students, and provide recommendations for improvements to the college's food service operation. In 1971, the Cafeteria Advisory Committee was renamed the Food Services Committee, and tasked by the chancellor to conduct an investigation into revising the entire food service operation for what had become North Carolina State University. Sometime after this, the committee's name was again changed to the University Dining Committee. This committee remains active as of 2011, continuing to act in an advisory capacity for the University Dining office.
