North Carolina State University. Dept. of Physical Education.
The North Carolina State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences was formerly known as the School of Liberal Arts and grew out of the School of General Studies and the Basic Division. In 1923, North Carolina State University's Department of Physical Education was established upon authorization of the Board of Trustees. Ten department heads have led the program since its inception. Physical education currently works closely with the Departments of Campus Recreation and Carmichael Complex Facilities and Operations.
