United Methodist Women (U.S.). South Georgia Conference.
The Woman's Missionary Society of the South Georgia Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South was formed in 1879. When the three branches of Methodism united in 1939, the organization became the Woman's Society of Christian Service (Women's in 1968). By 1972, it became known as the United Methodist Women.
