Marschall, Nicola, 1829-1917
Variant namesNicola Marschall was an artist who came to America in 1849 to teach art and music. He settled first in Alabama but moved to Louisville, Ky. in 1870. Marschall is famous for his portriat painting as well as designing the first Confederate flag and grey uniforms for the Confederate military.
