Winifred Whittemore Teele was born in Westborough, Massachusetts, in 1878. She attended Radcliffe in 1897-1898 and was a non-graduate of the class of 1901. In 1900 she married Arthur Page Teele. The couple lived in the Boston area and had two children. Teele became active in garden club work and flower arranging in 1931. For roughly thirty years she was known as a flower and garden expert, serving as president of both the Arrangers of Marblehead and the Bay Colony Garden Club of Boston and vice-president of the Garden Club Federation of Boston. She published two books, Flower Arrangement Primer (1940), and Facts about Flower Arrangement (1946), and received various awards for her activities. She died in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1977.
