Charleston, S.C. teacher, civic leader, and women's rights activist. A graduate of Columbia University (N.Y.), she taught at Memminger High School and was active in many community and professional organizations, serving as the state chairperson of the National Woman's Party. Her sister Carrie T. Pollitzer became assistant principal and a member of the faculty of the South Carolina Kindergarten Training School and was later its director. She played a leading role in the asmission of women to the College of Charleston in 1918.

Mabel L. Pollitzer was born in Charleston, S.C. She was the daughter of Gustave M. Pollitzer and Clara Guinzburg Pollitzer. Her sisters Carrie Teller Pollitzer (1881-1974) and Anita Pollitzer (1894-1975) were both active in the women's rights movement. Mabel L. Pollitzer was a teacher, civic leader and women's rights activist. She attended Craft School, Memminger Normal School, the College of Charleston and Columbia University. She taught at Memminger High School for fifty years and was active in many community organizations. She served as South Carolina chair of the National Woman's Party.
