Evans, D. Emrys (David Emrys), 1891-
Variant namesD. Emrys Evans studied at the University College of North Wales and at Jesus College, Oxford. He taught Classics at the University College Swansea, 1921-1927, but returned to Bangor and became Principal of U.C.N.W. where he remained until his retirement in 1958.
He was a translator of classical works and amongst his publications are Plato : amddiffyniad Socrates (1936), Y wladwriaeth / Plato (1956) and The University of Wales; a historical sketch (1953).
