Robert Jack , known as Robin, was born in 1920 , the son of Rev. Robert Jack, and spent his youth in the Rutherglen area, being educated at Rutherglen Academy in the 1930s. He was a student at the University of Glasgow first between 1938-1941 , and again between 1945-1948 . He graduated MA in 1941 and BD in 1948 . He was ordained to the Church of Scotland Ministry in 1950 , to the charge of Bearsden Killermont Parish Church, where he served as minister until his retirement in 1996 .
